organisation de séminaires et conventions à Riga par PREFERENCE EVENTS

PREFERENCE EVENTS, AN EVENTS AGENCY, OFFERS YOU RIGA, LATVIA, FOR THE TAILOR-MADE ORGANISATION OF YOUR NEXT COMPANY SEMINAR, INCENTIVE TRIP OR CONVENTION.

Riga is a city of contrasts: as you turn a corner, you see small, colourful, almost naïve doll’s houses, set against a backdrop of bridges, buildings and monuments of enormous proportions. And there’s another contrast: ten years ago, Latvia joined the European Union. You wouldn’t believe it when you hear Russian being spoken and see statues of Lenin, but in Riga you pay in euros!

Latvia’s capital is a museum city, a major centre of Jugenstil (Art Nouveau). With the largest concentration of Art Nouveau buildings in Europe, the city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And it has become even more attractive since the city spruced up its facades to live up to its title as 2014 European Capital of Culture.

25 km west of Riga, at the end of the gulf, lies Jurmala beach. White sand as far as the eye can see and refreshing pine trees on a hot summer’s day… You could be on the Atlantic coast, near Biarritz, except that Jurmala, in its heyday, had more of the bling of Saint-Tropez. Today, the nineteen fishing villages that make up this spa and the magnificent period wooden houses (listed by UNESCO) make it a must for your company trip or seminar in Riga.

In terms of culture, Riga is the new Berlin! History may be around every corner (the city was still Soviet twenty years ago), but the air is fresh. The city is moving at breakneck speed: bars are opening, clubs are being created, ideas are mixing and a new culture is emerging, well connected to the rest of the world. Young people, long constrained by the Soviet yoke, are still expressing themselves.

With its exceptional architectural heritage and vibrant culture, Riga is a must-see when organising a corporate event, seminar, convention, incentive trip or team building.
