PRIVATE EVENT

For the 230th anniversary of the French Revolution, a prestigious private client chose PREFERENCE EVENTS to organise a grand fancy dress ball on a “Revolution” theme for 150 guests in period attire.

The 15th century Château du Plessis Bourré, one of the most beautiful châteaux forts in Anjou, acted as the backdrop for this astounding, glamorous reception. Cocktails were served in the château grounds, alongside the filled moat, where guests could marvel at the wondrous view of the medieval architecture of the site. A drumroll announced dinner and the drawbridge was lowered for guests to throng towards the château enclosure. A candlelit dinner was served in the spacious square courtyard, followed by a party with DJ entertainment in the vaulted cellars.
The next day, a giant barbecue with spit-roasted suckling pigs made for a truly festive event. Guests were given the opportunity of being shown round the château’s private chambers, library and chapel by the owner.

The party theme (announced to guests in the form of various teasers) and the stunning setting in a private château, greatly contributed to the success of this glamorous reception.

French châteaux are obviously marvellous venues to organise masked balls. A private château with period furniture confers that extra special touch!
